Dubai - Decypha: The UAE’S exports and re-exports of creative goods have reached $16.1 billion, accounting for 3% of the world's total exports and registering ninth place in the global list of total recorded exports in 2015, according to the UAE's Ministry of Economy.
The recorded total of global exports of creative goods was $538 billion in 2015. UAE's foreign trade of creative industries was recorded at USD 30.7 billion in 2015, according to a recent study issued by UAE's Department of Industry and Trade Information Analysis at the Ministry of Economy.
About 75% of total value of Arab exports is from the UAE with the Arab countries exports for 2015 estimated at $21 billion. The creative industries commodities in UAE accounts for 7% of total non-oil trade in UAE.
Exports of national origin accounted for 41% of the total exports and re-exports for 2015, increasing from 14% in 2012.
UAE's imports of creative industries commodities are mainly from India at 17.4%, Malaysi at 12.3%, China 11.5%, France at 10%, and finally Italy at 8.9%.
Creative industries is defined as the creation, production, and distribution of goods and services founded on creativity and intellect as primary capital. The industry includes jewelry, advertising materials, chandeliers, bags and others.
