Dubai – Mubasher: The United Arab Emirates has taken the 19th ranking on the Global Entrepreneurship Index for 2016, up one notch compared with the 20th position last year, according to WAM.
“UAE is the top performer in the MENA region and a top performer globally for many pillars—notably, human capital, risk capital, and high growth. For these pillars, the UAE’s performance is a perfect 1, which reflects its financial wealth and also its high-quality human capital. The UAE’s position as an important trading hub undoubtedly contributes to a high level of high growth and internationalization aspirations in this country. Overall, the UAE exhibits a high level of aspirations and a medium level of attitudes and abilities,” said the report issued by Global Entrepreneurship Network.
The UAE came ahead of countries famous for supporting entrepreneurship like Norway, South Korea, Turkey and Japan.
The report, which evaluates 132 countries, is based on attitudes pillars like opportunity perception, startup skills, risk acceptance, networking, cultural support.
