UAE – Mubasher: The UAE was ranked the fifth in KPMG’s 2019 Change Readiness Index (CRI) among 140 nations, Al Bayan newspaper reported.
The index measures how prepared and responsive countries are to major global changes based on three factors; enterprise, government, and people and civil society.
The UAE was the only country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to capture a spot among the top 10 nations.
The GCC state came in fifth place, beating the UK, the US, and Australia. However, Switzerland has topped the global list, followed by Singapore, Denmark, and Sweden.
The UAE aims to identify strategic priorities to deal with climate changes and limit its associated risks in line with 2021 vision.
Moreover, the state has developed a national climate change programme to overcome climate changes by 2050.
