Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) said the total value of its developmental projects in Bahrain reached around AED 9 billion ($2.5 billion) between 2013 and 2016, according to its newest report.
The fund has completed about 98% of the UAE’s grant that contributes to the GCC development programme for Bahrain, the report added.
The value of the approved projects was divided onto AED 3.51 billion for three housing projects, AED 637 million for two water projects, AED 562 million for the health sector, AED 4.1 billion for transportation projects, and AED 187 million to establish government buildings.
The two most important projects were expanding the Bahrain International Airport at AED 3.7 billion and the project for developing and expanding Sheikh Zayed Road at AED 337 million.
In addition, a project to build residential 2,694 units in the Northern Region in Bahrain at a total cost of AED 2.6 billion will be implemented, according to the report.
