UAE’s BPGIC projects to improve oil sector – OPEC's Barkindo

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE-based Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investment Company (BPGIC) is implementing mega oil projects that are expected to boost the country’s oil sector over the next period, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (OPEC) secretary general Mohammed Barkindo said.

The GCC country is in dire need of these projects, as the oil industry represents one of its important income resources, Barkindo added.

BPGIC own an oil storage plant with a capacity of one million square metres, an official in the company noted.

BPGIC is currently planning to expand in the emirate of Fujairah, in addition to overseas expansions, the official further indicated, noting that the company also is looking to double its capacity by three times.

Fujairah is considered the world’s second largest bunkering hub.
