UAE’s Emirates Integrated Telecommunications launches new trademark – CEO

Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company launched its second trademark after receiving usage rights in the UAE.

The Dubai-based telecom operator launched its Virgin Mobile trademark on Tuesday.

The second trademark comes 10 years after the company launched “du”, CEO Osman Sultan told reported that the company’s press conference in Dubai.

The two trademarks will be under the full ownership of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, he said, adding that a separate management has been formed to manage the new company.

Du is 39.5% owned by the UAE federal government’s Emirates Investment Authority (EIA), 20.08% owned by the Abu Dhabi government’s investment company Mubadala Development, 19.5% owned by Emirates Technology and Communications, a subsidiary of the Dubai government’s investment arm Dubai Holding, alongside a number of shareholders.

Established in 2006, the Dubai-based telecom operator holds around 47% of the UAE telecom market.
