UAE’s Kanoo Group, France’s Armonia sign JV deal

Mubasher: The UAE’s Kanoo Group has teamed up with the France-based Armonia Group to launch an event management and luxury hospitality staffing firm.

Created under the name of Armonia Middle, the new firm will be located in Dubai and eyes a growing market for high-end experiences at sporting events in the Gulf, Arabian Business reported.

Armonia Middle also will support the conferences and exhibitions hosted by big brands and companies in the region, the weekly business magazine said, giving no further details on the value of the deal.

“We see that the region has a need for event experiences that need to now up their game and deliver what should be the next level of experience and sophistication,” said chairman of the UAE-based conglomerate Mishal Kanoo.

Meanwhile, Armonia Group generated EUR 850 million in revenues during the full-year 2017.

The French services provider aims to boost its revenues to EUR 1 billion through its new operations in the region, founder of the French services company Patrick Thélot stated.

The French parent of the firm has previously helped organise a series of key events in Paris such as the COP 21 UN climate change conference and the Roland Garros French Open Grand Slam.

Armonia provides its hospitality services for a slew of corporations and luxury brands including to Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Air France, as well as the Palace of Versaille.

In the same vein, the UAE-based conglomerate said that it is negotiating potential contracts, particularly with the organisers of sporting events in Dubai, and hopes to make “at least a few announcements soon this year.”
