Riyadh – Mubasher: Noon, the region’s most exciting and beloved online shopping experience, said it would start its operations in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, marking a new era for e-commerce in the Kingdom.
The UAE-based e-commerce platform launches a slew of products and offers in a bid to meet the lifestyle aspirations of the Saudi people.
The Saudi public investment fund (PIF), the region’s market leaders, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and a prominent group of investors in the GCC are backing Noon to acquire the largest e-commerce stake in the region.
“Noon is an ideal fit for the digital-first preferences and aspirations of the Saudi youth,” according to Noon’s statement.
“As a customer-focused, Arabic-first e-commerce platform, Noon, headquartered in Riyadh, brings a growing product assortment that derives its strength from deep connections with the local retail community,” the statement added.
Noon provides interesting retail choices via its website, or through iOS, and android apps, and its catalogue includes offering different products for groceries, home and kitchen, baby, beauty, fashion, and electronics.
“Saudi Arabia is entering a new era of economic and digital transformation led by the Saudi Vision 2030,” Founder of Noon, Mohamed Alabbar said.
“Noon brings a dynamic, locally-driven and customer-oriented digital marketplace to the Kingdom serving the community and offering a new retail and much improved experience,” Alabbar added.
“With talented young Saudis driving its operations, along with being powered by Saudi and regional retailers showcasing their amazing products, the platform also offers Saudi entrepreneurs, including start-ups, to be part of a fast-growing digital ecosystem,” Noon’s founder noted.
After its start in the UAE earlier this year, Noon celebrated launching its business in Saudi Arabia with a campaign entitled “Homecoming” that led to large offers and transactions on a wide range of products.
Noon recruited talented Saudi youth to manage its operations and take part in the region’s digital economy.
