Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has announced the launch of fifth generation (5G) services across the country.
The TRA called on local phone and mobile operators to begin preparing their infrastructure so that the second phase of this technology could commence sometime in early 2018.
The new 5G services will bolster the UAE’s telecommunications infrastructure to a significant extent, the TRA added in a statement.
The UAE’s transition towards 5G will boosts its global competitiveness, particularly is previously announced plan to become the number one centre for smart government services and one of the top 10 infrastructure-ready centres for information and telecommunications in the world.
