UAE's fuel prices to remain unchanged in May; records lowest level in year

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE Fuel Price Follow-up Committee announced that the fuel prices in the UAE will remain stable in May, including a 5% value-added tax (VAT), when compared to April.

The per-litre prices of Super 98, Special 95, diesel, and E-Plus 91 will settle at AED 1.91, AED 1.80, AED 2.06, and AED 1.72, respectively, in the next month, the committee remarked.

May's fuel prices in the UAE hit its lowest levels in a year when compared to the same month of 2019.

The price of Super 98 declined by around 23% in May 2020 from AED 2.48 per litre in the same month of 2019, while Special 95 plunged by 32.1% from nearly AED 2.34 per litre.

The per-litre prices of diesel decreased by 18.6% in May 2020 compared to 2.53% in the year-ago period.
