UAE’s industrial exports hit AED 84.2bn in 10M

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s industrial exports have been valued at AED 84.2 billion during the first ten months of 2020, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

This amount reflects the contribution of the industrial sector to foster economic growth and its ability to continue its activities despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) economic repercussions, according to the cited Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.

The industrial sector contributed to 10% of GDP in 2019, as reported by Colliers International Middle East and North Africa.

In 2019, the GDP amounted to AED 1.546 trillion, and the contribution of the UAE non-oil sector accounted for 70.2% of GDP at current prices during the same period.

It is noteworthy to mention that on Monday, 22 March, the UAE launched 'Operation 300bn' to raise the industrial sector’s contribution from AED 133 billion to AED 300 billion by 2031.
