Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s inflation rate fell to 1.62% in 2016, compared to 4.07% in 2015, according to the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).
The “education” and “housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels” groups climbed 4.22% and 3.57%, respectively, in 2016 year-on-year.
The “transportation” group went down 4.08% on an annual basis in 2016, while the “telecom” group fell by 0.81%.
Dubai’s inflation rate rose by 2.9% year-on-year, while that of Abu Dhabi, Umm al-Quwain, Fujairah, Sharjah, and Ajman went up 2%, 1.3%, 1%, 0.8%, and 0.5%, respectively.
