UAE’s non-oil foreign trade records AED 784.1bn in H1

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade grew 0.1% or AED 6.5 billion to AED 784.1 billion during the first six months of 2017 from AED 777.6 billion in the year-ago period, according to a report released by the Federal Customs Authority (FCA).

Imports reached AED 477.8 billion in H1-17, while exports and re-exports registered AED 89.1 billion and AED 217.2 billion, respectively, FCA added.

The UAE’s total trade volume is expected to hit AED 1.7 trillion by the end of 2017, given the current growth in the country’s trade, said Ali Mohammad Subaih Al Ka’abi, FCA’s chairman.

The weight of the UAE’s non-oil foreign trade amounted to 111 million tonnes in H1-17, Al Ka’abi added.
