Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade saw a 2.3% rise year-on-year in the first eleven months of 2016, according to a statement by Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
Non-oil foreign trade amounted to AED 157.77 trillion during the first eleven months of 2016, compared to AED 154.25 billion in the same period of 2015.
The growth of non-oil foreign trade is mainly attributed to an increase in the re-exports by 25.8% to AED 21.72 billion as at 30 November 2016 from AED 17.26 billion as at 30 November 2015.
Imports increased 0.6% to AED 109.85 billion in the eleven-month period of 2016, compared to AED 109.19 billion in the prior-year period.
Non-oil exports fell 5.7% to AED 26.21 billion as at 30 November 2016, compared to AED 27.80 billion as at 30 November 2015.
The US stayed on the top among the non-oil trade partners with imports valued at AED 20.60 billion in the first eleven months of 2016.
