UAE's non-oil trade grows to AED 1.6trn in 2019

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE's non-oil trade rose by 4.4% to AED 1.603 trillion in 2019 from AED 1.536 trillion in 2018, according to the latest statistics by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).

The UAE's re-exports jumped to AED 457.4 billion in 2019, compared to AED 431.55 billion in the earlier year, representing around 28.5% of the total foreign trade in the UAE.

Meanwhile, the exports accounted for nearly 14.4% of the total foreign trade, as they reached AED 231.23 billion in 2019, up from AED 206 billion in the previous year.

Emirati imports increased to AED 914.8 billion in 2019 from AED 898.37 billion during 2018.

China ranked the first among the UAE's trade partners with AED 184.15 billion in 2019, followed by India with around AED 152 billion.

Saudi Arabia came in the third position with AED 113.25 billion of bilateral trade with the UAE, followed by the USA and Switzerland with AED 96.56 billion and AED 65.2 billion, respectively.
