Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The volume of UAE’s non-oil foreign trade, including direct trade and free zones, increased 1% year-on-year in 2016, according to data released by the UAE Federal Customs Authority (FCA).
Non-oil foreign trade reached AED 1.564 trillion in 2016, compared to AED 1.556 trillion in 2015.
The country's imports went up by 2% to AED 969 billion in 2016, compared to AED 952.3 billion in 2015.
Exports increased 5% to AED 195 billion last year, compared to AED 185.4 billion a year earlier. In addition, the re-export volume stood at AED 400.4 billion in the same year.
