Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The amount of non-resident bank deposits in the UAE has increased by 13.7% in the first half of 2016, according to recent statistics from the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates.
Non-resident deposits grew to AED 177 billion in H1-16 from AED 155.7 billion in H1-15.
Deposits by UAE residents also rose 2.1% in the six-month period ended 30 June 2016 to AED 1.32 trillion, compared to AED 1.3 trillion in the same period in 2015.
Total deposits in Emirati banks in general have increased 3.4% year-on-year in H1-16 to AED 1.5 trillion.
