UAE's tourism sector expected to boom during Expo 2020

UAE - Mubasher: Tourism experts have expected a boom in the UAE's tourism sector in the upcoming period, namely during the Expo 2020 Dubai, set to be held on 1 October 2021 – 31 March 2022, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The tourism sector in the UAE has been recovering from coronavirus (COVID-19) because of the decisions taken by the UAE government, including the allowance of fully vaccinated individuals to apply for an entry visa, and the UAE's high vaccine distribution rate.

The expo is forecast to receive more than 25 million local and foreign visitors, enabling the UAE to become the top tourist destination over the next six months.

In August, the total number of passengers traveling to the UAE jumped by 207% to more than 2.5 million, compared to 814,000 in the same period of 2020, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) told WAM.

The GCAA referred that the figures in national air traffic statistics increased to 45,953 for August.
