Dubai-Mubasher: The UAE's tourism sector is expected to rise 5.1% in 2015 as the government continues adopting a positive position towards the sector, said The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
The council said this reflects the sector's ability to boost economy and offer more job opportunities compared with the other sectors.
The sector contributed AED 126.7 billion to the country's GDP, and offered more than 518,500 job opportunities, WTTC said.
It added that the industry will likely contribute AED 489.3 billion ($133.2 billion) to the local economy at the end of 2015, or more than 8% of the GDP. In addition, tourism will add 546,000 job opportunities, representing more than 9% of manpower in the local market.
