UAE – Mubasher: The UAE's total value of trade in telecommunications services reached around AED 29.4 billion from 2017 to 2019, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
In 2019, the trade value of telecommunications services increased by 1.2% to nearly AED 9.75 billion, when compared to 2017, as shown by the latest statistics of the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).
On a quarterly basis, the UAE witnessed AED 1.33 billion imports of telecommunication services during the second quarter (Q2) of 2019, when compared to approximately AED 1.27 billion in the first quarter (Q1).
During the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2019, the imports amounted to AED 1.2 billion.
Meanwhile, the exports services rose to about AED 1.2 billion in Q2 of 2019 from AED 1.15 billion in Q1, while the exports settled at AED 1.124 billion in Q4.
Telecommunication services include broadcasting or transmission of voice, image, data, and other information by telephone, telex, telegrams, radio, email, and fax, as well as business networking services and teleconferencing and support services.
