UAE – Mubasher: The UAE's Consumer Price Index (CPI) reached 106.64 points in July 2020, down from 107.25 points in June 2020, according to the latest data by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).
The lower CPI was driven by a decrease in the prices of six divisions last month, which represent around 67% of the total CPI weight, when compared to June 2020.
The price of recreation and culture sector led the decliners with 14.48%, followed by the miscellaneous goods and services segment with 0.67%, food and beverages with 0.65%, and furniture and household goods with 0.43%.
Meanwhile, the prices of six divisions rose last month, led by the textiles, clothing, and footwear segment with 0.97% and restaurants and hotels with 0.39%.
The prices of the transportation sector increased by 0.15% in July, followed by the medical care segment with 0.1%.
At the same time, the prices of tobacco and education segments remained unchanged in July.
