Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE stock markets are suffering from low liquidity in the recent period due to the absence of institutional investments and control of speculations, analysts told Mubasher.
Traders are awaiting new catalysts like financial announcements for the first quarter of 2017.
Investors’ unwillingness to increase their trading positions due to increased fears over first-quarter results pushed the UAE markets to see a volatile performance by the end of last week, capital market analyst Salem Al Nuwairi.
Liquidity fluctuations are normal especially amid speculations on some stocks and volatility of global exchanges, in addition to caution of some traders who are waiting for the results of the French elections and US Donald Trump’s plans to reduce the corporate tax rate, Al Nuwairi added.
The decline of oil prices had a negative impact on trades in local bourses, reflecting investors’ caution, capital market analyst Mohamed Al Azmi said.
