UAE to invest AED 157bn in port development - AlNuaimi

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE's Minister of Infrastructure Development Abdullah Belhaif AlNuaimi forecasted that developing and expanding the country’s ports will value about AED 157 billion.

The GCC country plans to be a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Alittihad newspaper reported, citing the AlNuaimi as saying.

The UAE is the only Arab nation which is nominating for IMO’s membership, AlNuaimi added.

The Ministry is implementing five projects at a value of AED 661 million in Sharjah, Fujariah, and Umm Al-Quwain.

The UAE’s Ministry of Infrastructure Development allocated AED 6 billion ($1.63 billion) for new investments in the nation’s infrastructure during 2017.
