Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE does not plan to change its civilian flight paths on the back of the last air incident in Bahrain, chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said.
“We have no plans at the present time,” Sultan bin Saeed al-Mansouri told Reuters after asked about any changes would be made to civilian paths.
Bahrain’s civil aviation authority announced days ago that a private UAE’s Airbus A320 flying from Fujairah to Rome was forced to change its path, as Qatari military aircraft were approaching.
The UAE has considered the incident a “provocative action”, noting that it had reported two similar incidents to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain has severed their diplomatic relation with Qatar in June 2017.
