UAE to raise fuel prices in June

Dubai – Mubasher: Fuel prices in the UAE are expected to rise again in June, an announcement by the UAE Fuel Price Committee indicated.

The cost of Special 98, Special 95, and diesel will likely increase by almost 6%, the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) tweeted late Monday, citing the committee’s decision.

The UAE’s Super 98 fuel will rise to AED 2.63 per litre from AED 2.49, while the Special 95 will go up to AED 2.51 a litre from AED 2.37. Moreover, diesel will increase to AED 2.71 per litre from AED 2.56.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee had announced a similar fuel price hike at the start of May.

The rise in petrol in prices in the UAE is due to the fact that the Gulf nation liberalised its prices nearly two years ago, which means that its prices now move with those in the global market.
