Dubai-Mubasher: The UAE ranked first in Online Service Index (OSI) in the gulf and Arab region, third in Asia and eighth globally, according to the 2016 e-Government Survey released by the United Nations (UN).
In e-participation, the UAE and Bahrain occupied the 32nd place among top 50 performers in 2016.
The UAE took the 29th position in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI). The country scored "very high," with the index values in the range of 0.75 to 1.00.
EGDI captures three dimensions: “scope and quality of online services”, “the development of telecommunication infrastructure” and “inherent human capital”.
The United Kingdom, followed by Australia and the Republic of Korea, led top performers in providing government services and information through the Internet.
