Cairo - Mubasher: The United Bank of Egypt aims at increasing its credit portfolio to EGP 12.8 billion by the end of the year, according to chairman Ashraf El-Kady.
El-Kady told Mubasher on Wednesday that the bank was looking to raise its portfolio by EGP 500 million, or 4%, from its current value of EGP 12.3 billion.
The bank also plans to expand in financing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the next three years, and to pump EGP 20 million by the end of the year.
The goal is to increase the SMEs portfolio from EGP 2.5 billion to EGP 2.8 billion, representing 21% of the total bank credit.
