Cairo – Mubasher: UK investors led foreigners investing in the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) during 2019, with a 30.11% share.
US investors came in the second place with 13.28%, followed by Luxembourg’s investors which made up 10.98%, according to the annual report released by the Egyptian bourse.
Moreover, Saudis trading in stocks on the EGX accounted for 7.16% of total foreign investments in the bourse last year, followed by investors from the Netherlands, Cayman Islands, Ireland, and the UAE with 6.20%, 5.58%, 4.88%, 4.75%, respectively.
Over the course of 2019, net foreign purchases on the EGX hiked to EGP 42.31 billion from EGP 5.73 billion in 2018.
