UK to build new British universities in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s higher education minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar has signed a partnership agreement with his British counterpart Sam Gyimah to establish branches of international British universities in Egypt.

This came on the sidelines of the Education World Forum held in London from 22 to 25 January 2017, according to the National newspaper.

This deal will stamp out the obstacles that prevent setting up such educational institutions in Egypt, the newspaper added.

It is worth mentioning that Abdel Ghaffar declared in a statement that both parties had considered signing the agreement, but he did not mention that it was actually inked.

He also announced that Egypt will be hosting an international conference for globally ranked foreign universities on 1 February.

On 16 January, the minister had previously unveiled that the higher education ministry has been seeking to attract EGP 35 billion investments to establish private and public universities.
