UL, GCC Labs to establish façade testing in KSA

Mubasher: The Dubai-based UL and GCC Labs have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which aims at localising fire and safety services, according to a recent press release.

The agreement also includes establishing a façade testing lab in Saudi Arabia to offer services across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

UL and its joint venture partner GCC Labs will explore the development of an agreement to build the first façade and fire testing facility in Saudi Arabia along with other services, including training.

Vice president and general manager of UL Middle East Hamid Syed commented, “This MoU represents our strong commitment to expanding safety services in the Middle East. It would improve the façade fire-testing market by significantly increasing both the capacity and the quality of cladding and building systems.”

“We are delighted to continue working with a globally renowned industry leader such as UL, whose mission and expertise perfectly complement our goal to deliver best in class services in KSA,” the CEO of GCC Labs Saleh Al Amri noted.
