UMEX 2018 day two records AED 292m deals

Mubasher: The second day of the third edition of Unmanned System Exhibition (UMEX) 2018 and Simulation & Training Conference and Exhibition (SimTEX) 2018 registered the signing of nine defense contracts valued at AED 292.49 million, the official spokesperson of the dual event, Major Pilot Saeed Mohammed Al Yamahi, said.

The UAE Armed Forces has inked two contracts with the UAE-based Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI); the first contract is worth AED 33.56 million for the operation of probing systems, while the AED 55 million second contract covers the purchase and installation of Corvette UAV (probes), Al Yamahi said, according to a recent statement.

“The Armed Forces signed an AED 4.1 million deal with TRUST International for the purchase of 10 reconnaissance systems along with small aircrafts,” Al Yamahi said, according to the statement.

The second day of the UMEX 2018 also witnessed the signing of an AED 8.95 million deal with the UAE-based International Golden Group (IGG) to renew joint fire training system operators for a three-year period, as well as the supply of an additional operator for the joint fire training system for a period of three years.

Al Yamahi also announced that “The Armed Forces inked an AED 5.54 million deal with INOVEX Simulation & Training Ltd from Switzerland for the technical support for Leclerc tank and an AED 1.65 million deal with SKY PRO from Lebanon for the Purchase of six UAV units.”

An AED 157 million deal was signed with Canada’s CAE.

“A contract valued at AED 856,152 was signed with MOTION REALITY Incorporated MRI based in USA for the extension of support services and technical support for two training courses.”
