UNB profits fall 15% in Q3

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Union National Bank (UNB) posted a 15.2% decline year-on-year in the third quarter of 2016, according to a bourse statement.

Profits reached AED 409.57 million ($111.48 million) in Q3-16, compared to AED 483.15 million ($131.51 million) in Q3-15.

Profits after taxes fell 20.4% to reach AED 1.33 billion in the first nine months of 2016, compared to AED 1.67 billion in the prior-year period.

Customers’ deposits slightly rose 0.04% to AED 74.82 billion in the nine-month period of 2016, compared to AED 74.79 billion in the same period of 2015.

Total loans and advances increased 7.5% to AED 73.57 billion during the period from January to September 2016, compared to AED 68.43 billion in the prior-year period.
