Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Union National Bank (UNB) is determined to expand in the Chinese and the Egyptian markets, CEO Mohammad Nasr Abdeen told Al Khaleej newspaper on Wednesday.
UNB’s representative office in China will be tranfsormed into a branch in August, Abdeen said.
The Emirati bank is focusing on the Chinese branch due to the growing relations in terms of economy, trade, and investment between China and the MENA region, he highlighted.
He also added that UNB is currently concentrating on expanding in the Egyptian market to cover the increasing demand of Egyptian customers.
The number of branches in the UAE is sufficient so there are no plans to inaugurate new branches in the Emirati market, he noted.
