US Federal Reserve raises interest rates 0.25%

Mubasher: The US Federal Reserve raised key interest rates by 25 basis points o Wednesday, to a range of 0.5% to 0.75%.

This is the first time interest rates were raised this year, and the second one, after a similar decision was taken last December for the first time in 12 years.

The Federal Reserve said that the decision comes in line with the positive expectation to employment and inflation in the United States.
