Cairo – Mubasher: The US has allocated $1.3 billion in military aid to Egypt for the 2018 and 2019 budgets, Egyptian foreign ministry's spokesman Ahmed Abou Zeid said in an interview on CBC TV.
The Trump Administration has submitted a request to the US Congress to earmark the total military aid to the North African nation, Abou Zeid added.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had said during his visit to Egypt that military aid to the Arab world's most populous country only amounts to $1 billion.
