US oil inventories down 1.8m barrels in week

Mubasher: US oil inventories decreased during last week, contrary to expectations.

According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), crude oil inventories went down by 1.8 million in the week that ended 20 September, to 471 million barrels.

Experts were expecting an increase in oil stocks by 2.9 million barrels.

On ther other hand, American gasoline inventories grew by 1.1 million barrels.

By 3:30 PM GMT, the price of Brent futures for November delivery decreased by 0.6% to $58.08 per barrel.
