Mubasher: Baker Hughes Oilfield Services on Friday reported an increase in US oil rigs for the eighth consecutive week, a sign that shale oil companies were recovering.
Rising by 8 this week, the total number of oil rigs reached 523.
By 20:52 GMT, US crude prices were up 0.21% to $53.06 per barrel, while Brent crude was up 0.20% to $55.16 pb.
