Mubasher: Baker Hughes Oilfield Services on Friday announced that the number of oil rigs in the US increased for the eighth week in a row.
Oil rigs grew by 10 to reach a total of 406 in the week ended 19 August, up from 396 rigs last week.
Natural gas and oil rigs also were up by 10 to 491 rigs this week, but were down year-on-year by 394 rigs.
Oil rigs grew last week by 15 rigs to 396 from 381 rigs the week before, according to data by Baker Hughes.
