Mubasher: Retail sales in the US registered the biggest yearly rise in April, according to a report by the Commerce Department on Friday.
Sales at retailers surged 1.3% last month on an annual basis, rebounding from a weak first quarter.
April's rise was strengthened by gains among auto dealers and internet retailers, the report said, adding that every segment of the retail industry saw improved results with the exception of home centres.
