Mubasher: US stocks saw a negative performance in Friday’s early trades, weighed down by data that showed U.S. retail sales were unexpectedly flat in July as Americans cut back on purchases.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.4% by 2:10pm GMT, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 retreated 0.25%.
The NASDAQ composite index went down 0.18%.
