Cairo – Mubasher: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has allocated $125 million (EGP 1.973 billion) in economic grants to Egypt in 2020, the USAID's mission director in Egypt, Sherry Carlin, stated on Thursday.
Total subsidies granted to Egypt by the USAID for various projects has reached $30 billion, Carlin said.
The top official added during a meeting with Egyptian international cooperation minister Rania El-Mashat that the fields of these projects included education, healthcare, drinking water, sanitation, commerce, SMEs, tourism, and agriculture.
Carlin and El-Mashat discussed deepening relations between Egypt and the USAID in the coming period to reflect the level of economic relations between Cairo and Washington.
