Cairo – Mubasher: Ride-hailing app Uber has launched its online food ordering and delivery Uber Eats in Cairo on Sunday.
The company has launched the food delivery app in collaboration with 100 branches of local and international restaurants across Cairo to order food all weekdays with an average delivery time of 40 minutes, Uber said in a statement.
Uber Eats features the same credible global technology of Uber that enables passengers to navigate easily between their desired destinations, the company added.
The food ordering app allows users around the world to order food from over 80,000 restaurants in more than 200 cities, the company highlighted.
By launching Uber Eats in Cairo, the Egyptian capital joins other hundred cities around the world that enjoys the services of Uber Eats, CEO of Uber Eats in Europe, Middle East, and Africa Rodrigo Arevalo said.
Uber has caused a revolution in the transportation industry and it is causing now another revolution in the food world, Arevalo added, pointing out that the app has been designed specially to meet demands of the locals and it will be launched for the first time in Arabic.
Cairo is the first city in Africa to witness the launch of Uber Eats with the cash payment option, he noted.
It is worth noting that the ride-hailing app Uber aims to operate across 50% of the Egyptian governorates by the end of 2018.
