Cairo – Mubasher: Global ride-hailing company Uber announced an increase in the prices of its services in Egypt.
Uber set the base fare for UberX in Cairo and Alexandria at EGP 7.25 and EGP 7.00, respectively, according to a statement.
The decision was based on fuel hikes announced on Friday as the government raised the per litre prices of 95-Octane, 92-Octane, and widely-used 80-Octane fuel to EGP 9, EGP 8, and EGP 6.75, respectively.
