Kuwait-Mubasher: The stock of Kuwait Telecom Co. (VIVA) jumped 5.43% to 970 fils amid disappearance of selling orders.
Buying orders were placed on nearly nine million shares until Thursday's mid-trade.
The Kuwaiti bourse halted the stock for one hour after Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) said it submitted on Wednesday a voluntary offer to acquire an additional 74% stake in VIVA.
STC currently owns a 26% stake in the Kuwaiti joint stock company which was established in 2008 with paid-in capital of KWD 49.94 million, divided into 499.4 million shares. VIVA was listed on the Kuwaiti bourse in December 2014.
