Cairo – Mubasher: The value of issued banknotes in Egypt rose 23% year-on-year in May, according to a monthly report by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Issued banknotes reached EGP 435.4 billion in May 2017, compared to EGP 352.8 billion in May 2016.
The value of issued 200-pound notes reached EGP 239.7 billion in May, while the 100-pound and 50-pound notes issued amounted to EGP 153.2 billion and EGP 27.8 billion, respectively.
