Victims of Emirates’ 2016 plane crash can sue Boeing – US court

Dubai– Mubasher: Victims of Emirates’ flight that crashed off in Dubai in August 2016 can lodge a complaint against Boeing, An US court ruled.

With 330 passengers on board, the EK 521 plane plunged to the ground at Dubai International Airport after the fuel tank exploded causing fire.

The case found its way to the US courts after 15 of the survivors initiated legal proceedings against the US planemaker. Boeing was accused of operating planes with technical failures.

In August 2017, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) released a report on the accident stating that “analysis of the data downloaded indicates that there were no aircraft systems or engine abnormalities up to the time of the accident.”

The GCAA is expected to reveal its final report by 2019.
