Cairo – Mubasher: Vodafone International has acquired Egypt’s Vodafone International Services (VIS) in a deal worth EGP 1 billion, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) on Wednesday.
“Vodafone’s decision to acquire VIS reflects the international company’s trust in Egypt’s economy and investment environment, the successful economic reform steps, and MCIT vision,” Vodafone international’s regional CEO for Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific (AMAP), Vivek Badrinath, said.
For his part, the communications minister Amr Talaat noted that Vodafone has long contributed to developing the IT and communications sector in Egypt.
