Cairo – Mubasher: The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) in Egypt will launch a new two-year programme to support families in Upper Egypt in the face of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported late on Sunday.
The WFP received a EUR 15 million contribution from Germany’s KfW Development Bank under the Egyptian-German debt-swap programme to finance the project which also includes converting community schools to smart schools.
The programme also involves the provision of micro-funding to women and youth.
The date on which the programme will be launched hasn’t not been disclosed.
