Wafa hits 6M low Thursday on SAMA suspension

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance (Wafa Insurance) saw a negative performance for its third session in a row.

The stock retreated 3.66% to SAR 13.95 by 12:00 pm KSA time on Thursday.

The insurance company had expected that the latest decision of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) would reduce its sales on the short-term.

On Wednesday, SAMA had suspended Wafa from issuing motor insurance policies as of 27 April.

Wafa achieved traded values of SAR 17.28 million by exchanging 1.26 million shares through 1,040 transactions.

Meanwhile, the main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) added 0.19% or 12.95 points to stand at 6,929.98 points.
