Wages in Egypt rose by 8% to 18% - CAPMAS

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the average wage in the public sector rose by 8%, and by 18.8% in the private sector.

Average weekly wage registered EGP 1,247 ($71.4) in 2017, increasing by 8% compared with EGP 1,154 in 2016, and EGP 1,064 in 2015.

Meanwhile, average weekly wages in the private sector grew by 18.8% to EGP 779 ($43.6) last year, from EGP 670 in 2016, and EGP 594 in 2015.
